Shanghai Golden Phillips Petrochemical Company Limited (“SGP”), a joint venture between Shanghai Petrochemical Company Limited (“SPC”) and Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LLP (“CPChem”), was established in December 1995. It was located at 99 Road Weisan, Jinshan District, Shanghai, covering an area of 10.6 hectares. Its total investment is usd135.91mm.

CPChem’s slurry loop technology was licensed to the company to produce full density polyethylene with an annual capacity of 150,000mt. The production process is monitored and controlled by Honeywell TDC300 system (DCS). The state of art APCS (advanced process controlling system) is adopted to control critical process parameters, therefore the product properties are homogenous.

There are basically four product categories, i.e. blow molding, film, pipe and wire/cable insulation resins. The product is translucent flat round pellet with natural color, free from toxin, taste and odor. It has great heat and cold resistance, good processing feature, nice chemical stability and di-electric properties. Its rigidity, toughness and ESCR are excellent. The company’s extrusion pipe resin TR-480AT was certified PE80 by the state. The product uses CPChem’s MARLEX trademark and SPC’s Three Man trademark. The National Product & Service Uniformed Code (NPC) was secured for the product. The product has been awarded and recognized as Shanghai PE Industry Famous Brand. Other than TR-144P and wire/cable insulation resin, the product meets edible package polyethylene sanitary standard (GB9691).
